Toyota Aygo Information

Advanced materials technology and intelligent design have enabled the creation of an extremely well specified car which weighs around 800Kg.  As a result, the car's 3 cylinder 1 litre petrol provides very good performance without excessive fuel costs; the Aygo can accelerate from 0-60 in about 14 seconds, and has a top speed of a shade under 100mph and yet combined fuel cycle figures are over 60mpg.

The toughest competition for the new Toyota will come from its design partner in the project - Peugeot Citroen, who will be launching their own very similar vehicles.  From what we've seen, all three models could be very successful.

Aygo also has bags of style and looks fabulous.  Despite the shared platform with the two French Vehicles, there's no denying that the similarities between Aygo and the company's incredibly successful Yaris; and that's no bad thing.

The basic car is quite well specified and has a great, slightly futuristic, interior to match its exciting external lines.

With prices likely to start at a little under £7,000 this car represents great value for money, and is going to be hugely successful.  Residual prices should still be very good as recent Toyotas are built to last, and you can expect there to be quite a demand for good second-hand stock.

For a slightly higher price, you can increase the specification by opting for the Aygo+ which, it is expected, will have a list price of nearer £8,000.

Toyota also highlight the other efforts they have made to make the running costs of the new super-mini as low as possible.  Spare parts, they claim, will be particularly cheap and servicing costs are expected to be minimal.

Aygo should also attract an extremely low insurance group.

So all in all, you can safely bet that this is going to be a very good car, which can be operated on a very small budget.

Zeronise and Maximise in action.  Well done Toyota.
